I'm Michelle and proud to be an ambassador for Never Look Back Active Wear.
I am 42 years young, a wife and a mother of 2 children aged 6 & 8 years old and work part-time while doing the mum juggling-act, which most women can relate too I'm sure.
I'm not going to delve into my past and background story, as I believe in the slogan "Never Look Back". I'm looking forward to tomorrow, next week, the coming months and what's in the future years ahead. Yes, we all have a past, regrets, treasured memories, secrets, special moments and lessons learned but this is about being positive, focused and having future goals and aspirations to aspire to right now! You might ask, well how?
For me, it's about having a positive mindset, setting goals and making good choices and looking up to my mentors for inspiration to keep me motivated.
Right now you might be at a crossroad in life - something that your not happy about and want to change? It might be something small like fitting into a dress for a special occasion or something quiet more daunting like changing jobs, buying a new car, going on a holiday or something more long-term like losing some weight and get fitter and healthier. This is then the perfect time to focus your mindset to the goal/s your have set and are willing to do what ever it takes to achieve.
Many years ago an elderly service lady from the Salvation Army once told me when I was about maybe 10 or 11 years old "there is no such word as can't" and that has really stuck with me all these years. It's a positive affirmation that I have etched into my mind and memory and I also say this to myself all the time. I CAN do anything, I repeat over and over when things might seem a bit tough at times. Again there is no right or wrong, but stick to your game plan when you decide on what you want to achieve. It could be to be healthier, lose some weight, run a 10km marathon, do yoga, stop smoking - but it must be something that will challenge your mind.
By choice, I lead an active and healthy lifestyle, but nothing comes easy let me tell you. It's not going to happen by lying in bed of a morning talking about it, YOU have to make it happen. My alarm goes at 4.45am everyday to go to the gym. It sucks, it hurts, it's dark, it's cold, I'm hungry - no buts! no excuses! A fitter and healthier me is not going to just happen lying in bed wishing and dreaming it's going to happen. YOU have to make it happen. YOU! - no one else, your mindset, your challenge, your choice, your goal, no one else's. You must do it for YOU. This is a choice.
Challenge yourself, set some smaller, even easy goals to achieve but also set some more challenging goals for yourself. Write them down and review these goals maybe every 6 months to 12 months. I do this every year. It might be as small and simple as to sit and read a book or to a bigger goal to go on an overseas holiday. Right now I've set some really big goals to achieve, which scare me, but it's a challenge and I'm going to go for it and give it my best shot, why not! I have nothing to loose and everything to gain.
What motivates you? Sometimes it has to be self-motivation, or maybe a sports person, famous actress/actor, a beautiful picture of a place, event or person might be the reason or catalyst for your motivation. Wherever the inspiration comes from, use that to drive you and keep you focused. Manifest in your mind what you want and go for it. Stick a picture or write words down and put on the fridge if that helps to keep you focused on your goals.
Lastly, don't make excuses! If the mindset is focused, you can do anything. The mind will try to talk you out of doing anything that might be a little difficult or challenging. But if the mind is focused, set and determined, the body just has to follow along for the ride.
I allocate just 1 hour of the day to myself for myself. This may be going for a walk, gardening, training at the gym, grocery shopping, cleaning, getting a massage, a beach walk but its important to do this for YOU! As a mother I feel that I want to be fit and healthy not only for myself but I want to be a good role model and hopefully show my children to the make good choices in there nutrition and by doing some sort of exercise that becomes a normal way of life and not a chore in life.
Be positive, be focused, be active, be happy, laugh, smile and love.
"One mind, one body, one life"
Michelle xoxo
